Central Grocers, Inc. is a member's owned grocery wholesaler that was formed in 1917. Operating as a cooperative, Central Grocers, Inc. supplies and services over 200 independent grocery retailers in the Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana area. From the corner grocer to the full service supermarket, the independent Central Grocer member can compete in the market because of Central's buying power and other economies of scale.
